Bringing the Russian-American Festival to a close, dynamic French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet appears in a reading of George Gershwin’s jazzy Concerto in F Major. The lighter side of typically dour Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich is heard in Tahiti Trot, his witty variations on the familiar “Tea for Two,” complementing a performance of excerpts from Prokofiev’s masterful ballet score Romeo and Juliet. Peter Oundjian conducts. — Rick MacMillan
