Soprano Monica Whicher and baritone Alexander Dobson join this flexible ensemble, along with pianist Peter Longworth, for The Voyage Out. Taking its musical theme from journeys of exploration, of the world and the spirit, the evening includes works by two Englishmen—Gavin Bryars’ The Adnan Songbook (to a text by Etel Adnan), and a chamber arrangement of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ orchestral cycle Songs of Travel (using poetry by Robert Louis Stevenson)—plus the world premiere of Canadian composer Derek Holman’s Daybreak and a Candle-end (a setting of W. B.
