The Toronto Consort recalls Christmas celebrations during the 16th and 17th centuries in Spanish-speaking nations around the world, regions renowned for flashy rhythms and sensuous melodies. This fiesta of holiday music features harp, guitars, percussion, winds, keyboards and voices, in performances of solemn motets by Tomás Luis de Victoria and Francisco Guerrero, as well as lively dance music from Latin America.—Rick MacMillan
