Norwegian composer Rolf Wallin’s Strange News is the featured work here, a moving, multi-media testament to the plight of child soldiers in the Congo. Featuring young Ugandan actor Arthur Kisenyi as the narrator and a chamber ensemble under conductor Les Dala, it explores the healing power of music in some of the darkest corners of the world. Also on the program: Igor Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale, with Martha Henry as narrator and Jonathan Crow on violin.—Rick MacMillan
