Sibelius Festival

Here’s a rare chance to hear all seven of Jean Sibelius’s symphonies over the course of three programs, performed in numerical order, in addition to the rousing tone poem Finlandia. Also featured are four shorter works for violin and orchestra by the Finnish composer that don’t often grace concert programs: Humoresques nos. 1 and 2, Cantique, Devotion and Two Serenades. Danish maestro Thomas Dausgaard, a frequent guest conductor at the TSO, leads the orchestra in all performances, joined by Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto.—Rick MacMillan
