This Aldeburgh offering celebrates the centenary of the Arts & Letters Club, a significant, long-time meeting place on Elm Street for artists of all stripes, including several members of the Group of Seven. Fittingly, the evening’s program focuses on the music of illustrious composer-members from earlier times: Leo Smith, Healey Willan, Ernest MacMillan, Ernest Seitz and Srul Irving Glick, among them. Featured soloists include soprano Monica Whicher, mezzo-soprano Lauren Segal, tenor Colin Ainsworth and baritone Giles Tomkins, with Aldeburgh co–artistic directors Stephen Ralls and Bruce Ubukata accompanying.—Rick MacMillan
