Italian cellist Enrico Dindo appears as soloist in the Sergei Prokofiev work Sinfonia Concertante for Cello and Orchestra, part of the TSO’s Russian-American Festival. For the U.S. perspective, Peter Oundjian and the orchestra perform Leonard Bernstein’s bubbly Candide overture, and John Corigliano’s Pulitzer Prize–winning Symphony no. 2 for String Orchestra, hailed by the Chicago Tribune for its “coruscating power, eerie beauty and sheer inventive fantasy.” — Rick MacMillan
