Devoted to the entire gamut of Afrocentric music, this polished choir presents Voices of the Diaspora: Gullah Voices, with vocal improvisations and communal harmonies by Melanie DeMore. The Grammy nominee espouses the traditional rhythmic stick pounding of the Gullah people of the southern U.S., a practice developed by their slave forebears. Feb. 17 and 20.—Rick MacMillan
