Originally held from 1981 to 1994, Music at Sharon was revived last year to showcase the acoustics of one of southern Ontario’s architectural wonders: the Sharon Temple north of Newmarket, built by the Children of Peace, a religious sect of former Quakers. Performers include soprano Suzie Le­Blanc and pianist Robert Kortgaard, June 1; pianist Louise Bessette, violinist Olivier Thouin, cellist Yegor Dyachkov and clarinetist Simon Aldrich in a concert featuring works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Montreal composer Nicolas Gilbert, and his inspiration, Frenchman Messiaen, June 8; pianist Sara Davis Buechner in a program of music by Mozart, Jacques Ibert, late Vancouver composer Elliot Weisgarber, Japanese composer Kouji Taku and the inimitable George Gershwin, June 15; and the True North Brass, June 22. — Rick MacMillan
