After suspending its mainstage productions due to budget restraints last year, Opera Hamilton is back. This season opener showcases one of Mozart’s most beloved operas, with a fine cast that includes tenor Colin Ainsworth (Prince Tamino), soprano Shannon Mercer (his soulmate, Pamina), soprano Audrey Elizabeth Luna (the Queen of the Night), baritone Alexander Dobson (bird catcher Papageno) and bass Kevin Langan (Sarastro, the dastardly ruler). Opera Hamilton’s general director David Speers oversees the production.—Rick MacMillan
