The German violinist plays his first solo recital in Toronto in a decade, offering up Johann Sebastian Bach’s Partita no. 2 in D Minor, BWV 1004; and Sonata no. 3 in C Major, BWV 1005; as well as Eugène Ysaÿe’s Sonata no. 1 in G Minor and a selection of seven Caprices by the virtuoso 19th-century Italian violinist and composer Nicolò Paganini.—Rick MacMillan
