Art of Time Ensemble

This genre-busting group remounts one of last season’s sold-out endeavours: the Kreutzer Sonata, a program of music, dance and theatre inspired by, and featuring, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Violin Sonata no. 9 in A Minor, op. 47 (“Kreutzer”). Violinist Marie Bérard and pianist Andrew Burashko take on the sonata, which was dedicated to the turn-of-the-19th-century fiddler Rodolphe Kreutzer. Also included is a dramatic adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s novella The Kreutzer Sonata, by Ted Dykstra, and choreographer James Kudelka’s 15 Heterosexual Duets, with Coleman Lemieux and Compagnie.—Rick MacMillan
