Titled Scratch 4: Music in Motion: The Virtual Sound World of Zack Settel, this concert features a work-in-progress by the renowned American electroacoustic and multidisciplinary composer Zack Settel. Composed expressly for the Arraymusic ensemble, the work calls on the performers to move about, their roving sounds captured via a real-time audiovisual computer model of the performance space. As a result, the players’ sounds are transformed according to where they are in relation to virtual sound-processing objects in the space. — Rick MacMillan
