Amici Chamber Ensemble

The trio made up of clarinetist Joaquin Valdepeñas, cellist David Hetherington and pianist Serouj Kradjian serves up music by some of the 19th and 20th centuries’ most distinctive French composers. Offerings include Camille Saint-Saëns’s Piano Quintet in A Minor, op. 14, Darius Milhaud’s Le boeuf sur le toit (tango rhythms spice things up), Francis Poulenc’s Sonata for Clarinet and Piano (premiered by Benny Goodman in 1963) and Arthur Honegger’s Sonatine for Violin and Cello.—Rick MacMillan
