This Montreal-born soprano, raised in Marseilles and educated in New York, makes her long-awaited Canadian recital debut. A regular at the Met and a seasoned performer with the likes of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Salzburg Festival, Deshorties sings Franz Joseph Haydn’s cantata Berenice, che fai?, Claude Debussy’s Cinq poèmes de Baudelaire, selections from Hugo Wolf’s Spanisches Liederbuch, Francis Poulenc’s seven-song cycle La courte paille and songs by Kurt Weill.—Rick MacMillan
