Roberts Gallery is the oldest fine art gallery in the country (it originally opened on King Street in 1842), and this year marks the 60th anniversary of its ownership by the Wildridge family, who purchased it from the Robertses in the 1940s, retaining the latter’s venerable name and the Canadian artists with whom they had long-established ties. The commemorative Sketches exhibit marries the gallery’s contemporary stable with its impressive group of estate artists: Franklin Arbuckle, Alan Collier, and Group of Seven members A. Y. Jackson and A. J. Casson. Artwork $300–$30,000.—David Balzar
