The work of the late Laura Ciruls concerns itself with the shifting spatial dynamics of urbanization. Ciruls’s paintings are layered, employing acrylic gels, extenders and photo transfers that, when piled on top of each other, recall foundations at construction sites. There is also a notable psychological element. Ciruls’s provocative palette and sometimes hasty brush strokes suggest the chaos and fear that often accompany human acts of ordering—or, alternately, of dismantling. Artwork prices TBA.—David Balzer
