Jason McLean

Some will recognize McLean from MOCCA’s Pulp Fiction show last year, which highlighted a group of idiosyncratic artists who came of age in 1990s London, Ontario. McLean, an imaginative craftsperson who often collaborates with West Coast artist Mark DeLong, is interested in the detritus of suburban life. Packets of vanilla flavouring, baseball gloves and bamboo parasols act as unlikely canvases for his ornamental and almost always text-based paintings and drawings. Artwork $650–$8,500.—David Balzer
