It’s rare to find a romantic among today’s rough and ready video artists, but Guido van der Werve is one—even if many of his extravagant gestures are tempered with self-mocking absurdism. This exhibition contains three of the Dutchman’s works, including Nummer Negen: The Day I Didn’t Turn With the World, which features the artist at the North Pole for 24 hours (condensed into nine minutes); and Nummer Acht: Everything Is Going to Be Alright, which shows the artist walking precariously in front of an icebreaker ship. Artwork not for sale.—David Balzer
