Capping a month and a half of researching and appraising a dozen West Queen West eateries, the Parkdale Pumas—a.k.a. a group of neighbourhood kids assembled by playwright and performance artist Darren O’Donnell and his company, Mammalian Diving Reflex—host an awards ceremony at the Gladstone Hotel. The event is part of a series of interventions by the Mammalians (Haircuts by Children) meant to effect a momentary, awkward and exuberant dissolution of arbitrary social distinctions.
