Christian Giroux and Daniel Young

Repurposing is the name of the game in contemporary sculpture, and Christian Giroux and Dan Young are nothing if not emblematic of the practice. Much of their early work consists of Lego-like conglomerations of IKEA furniture; a recent commission at Scarborough’s Lee Centre Park makes an oddly rigid, grid-like playground out of existing Jungle Gym parts. This particular show is centred around a film that also deals in everyday items: the Martin Creed–like 50 Light Fixtures From Home Depot shows the different ways a white-cube room can look when illuminated by the titular objects. Artwork not for sale.—David Balzer
