A unique art in the film world, unit still photography is also a fussy and largely thankless job. (Most people who see a still simply attribute it to the director—or director of photography—assuming the image has been grabbed straight from a given frame.) Brian Hamill has shot some of the most famous images in movie history, including ones for Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull and Woody Allen’s Manhattan, the subjects of this current exhibit. To behold his beautiful print of Diane Keaton and Allen in front of the 59th Street Bridge, for instance, is to be assured of the role he’s played in making these films iconic. Artwork $1,800–$3,000.—David Balzer
