Condomonium: $2.3 million for a penthouse with a garage that morphs into a car wash
ADDRESS: 21 Nelson Street, Unit Uph18
NEIGHBOURHOOD: Waterfront Communities–The Island
AGENT: Nicole Van Stone , Brad J. Lamb Realty
PRICE: $2,340,000
THE PLACE: A two-level, south-facing penthouse in a 35-storey building in the Entertainment District. It’s available fully furnished, if the interior design by Cecconi Simone Inc. strikes your fancy.
BRAGGING RIGHTS: The cantilevered stairs may look light and dainty but rigging them up was a backbreaking project that used 7,000 pounds of steel and custom glass.
BIG SELLING POINT: For car-lovers wary of leaving their wheels in communal lots, this suite has its own private garage. Not only does it fit two vehicles, but it doubles as a hot-and-cold carwash. It’s likely the only condo in the city with such a car-coddling set-up.
POSSIBLE DEAL BREAKER: The glowing mirrors and vanities in the master ensuite are certainly cool, but they may feel a little too nightclubby first thing in the morning.
BY THE NUMBERS:
• $2,340,000
• 2,398 square feet
• $1,470.26 in monthly maintenance fees
• 476-square-foot terrace
• 3 bedrooms plus den (or fourth bedroom)
• 3 bathrooms
• 2 level
• 2-car private parking garage
• 2 dishwashers
154723 The terrace has water, gas and fire pit connections. It is accessible from the living room and the kitchen 21 Nelson Street, Unit Uph18 21 Nelson Street, Unit Uph18 https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/jul12Nelson_17-96x96.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/jul12Nelson_17.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/jul12Nelson_17.jpg 624 416 [] https://torontolife.com/real-estate/condomonium-21-nelson-street/slide/jul12nelson_17/ jul12nelson_17 0 0

TL again! This is not the waterfront community, just say KING WEST…Christ! Will they leave the Murphy bed ? Its OK…nothing to write home about….
I am getting really bored with the glassed in staircase thing.
I have lived in a house with a white floor. NEVER AGAIN. You know how hard it is to keep a white floor looking clean? You basically need someone whose full time job is to follow you around wiping the floor behind you. You sweep, you mop, you vacuum, you swiffer, you steam, and 10 seconds later you turn around and it’s filthy looking again.
Love, love, love the white floor! This is exactly how I would like to redo my townhouse to look. So very beautiful.
Beezle, 100% on the white floor. I’ve got that 1970s parquet flooring that many people hate, but I must say, it hides a multitude of sins.
My 2 cents are…..2.3 mill to live on Nelson St???…..and that is not a ‘million dollar’ view…..too low to the ground could be easily blocked/obstructed in the future by another mega condominum (probably by Mr. Lamb himself).
why are you having a Murphy Bed in a $2.3MM home. Those are usually left for hotel rooms of 200 Sqft. SMH (shaking my head)
outdated design. no wonder they moved.
2.3 million??? Oh, but I forgot that it has two dishwashers so totally worth the money. Geesh.
Ugh white. look at me! running with melted M&M’s all over my hands. weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
BIG SELL – two car garage that doubles as a car wash. But yeah, let’s not show any pictures of that.
No pic of the garage, the walk-in closet is a letdown for $2.3 mil….in my paltry $400K townhouse,i have a 3rd bedroom converted to a closet ,much more space and will someone tell me who thinks a mirror with neon yellow lighted trim would flatter anyoneeeeee,The furnishings are lack lustre and the view??? what view??? If i wanted to see the tower everyday smack dab I’d buy a tourist postcard.2 dishwashers??? why? the kitchen is not overly large nor is the condo so whyyyy?
love the terrace and bare bones of the place but would have to spend about another $2 mil to make it tasteful so,no I will spend my lotto max winnings elsewhere
Hi Nicole,They should be potsed on the front page. I will make sure they get up there. I am going to propose we create a minutes tab and have them all potsed there, either that or in the forum.
This place is unbelievable – it would cost you $4,000,000 at the Shangri La to get something even close to the same – but the Shangri La does not have two levels or such private garages. In fact, this unit has 3 parking spaces. I have seen this place with my agent and it is amazing. The quality of the finishes is outstanding and it is one of a kind. There is really no condo in the city like it – with 2 stories, cantilevered stairs, huge terrace with roughed in natural gas barbeque and fire pit, full freestanding tub, two walk-in closets, 3 full washrooms, and the list goes on. I loved the white floors and they are solid 3/4″ maple – no one gives you that! I think all the posters on here are just negative because they can’t afford such luxuary.
Ashlee, you should note the place is huge and so is it kitchen, so not sure what you are talking about. The view is beautiful…all the condos on King St. have most of the views blocked while this condo does not. In fact, no one is building in front of it. The kitchen cabinets, entertainment system and stairs alone cost $400,000 – the price of your townhouse! Your comments seem a little negative for someone that can’t barely afford one-level of the finishes in this masterpiece. Also, dark floors so just as much dirt, so quite frankly if your a “pig” you shouldn’t have any colour of floor quite frankly.
Why do you need 2 dishwashers?
