Dust off the acid-washed denim and locate your old retainer. Appropriate ’80s attire is a must at this retro romp. DJ Shaan spins classics from the era (think Footloose and Flashdance) and entry is free for those in costume (prizes for best and most creative).

High Society Costume Gala
Costumes and cocktails will be in abundance (not to mention candy-corny pickup lines).

Halloween for a Cause
Tickets for this Halloween-themed diabetes fundraiser include dinner, a live band and comedy. An on-site portrait photographer will provide spooky snaps.

Casa Loma
Made over as a haunted castle, Toronto’s famous house on the hill provides loads of ghoulish fun—everything from the Men in Tights’ frightening production of The Phantom of the Opera to magicians and a mysterious underground tunnel. Ghost Tours, held on Oct. 27 and 31, and Nov. 1, highlight the landmark’s haunted history.

Foxhowl
The semi-monthly queer mixer Foxhole gets a Halloween makeover. In addition to DJs and a live burlesque show, expect mad dance moves and pick-ups ’o plenty. Everyone welcome; prizes for best costume.

Halloween Howler Club Crawl
If the thought of hopping on a party bus after downing four kamikaze shots doesn’t turn your stomach, then this is the event for you. Billed as Canada’s biggest Halloween celebration, the party on wheels begins at The Docks and stops at four of the city’s dance-friendly downtown clubs. The prize for best costume is a trip to Mexico, although with thousands expected to attend, competition is likely to be fierce.

Spooktacular Singles Halloween Party
