Crystal ’09 ROM
Opulence is the word of the day for the nearly 2,000 party-goers who ring in the new year under the glass and steel of the Royal Ontario Museum’s Crystal. They can preview the high-priced culinary goodies conjured by C5 head chef Ted Corrado. The gourmet hors d’oeuvre include Peking duck crêpes, petite beef Wellingtons with blueberry-dijon dip and celebratory cheesecake bites.
Where: Royal Ontario Museum, 100 Queen’s Park, 416-898-0921.
When: 9 p.m.–3 a.m.
How much: $125.

Track Meet at 751
For the past four years, Track Meet has been an oasis for lovers of hip hop who are haters of clubland. This New Year’s, the skinny-jeaned mingle with the baggy-panted on the dance floor, where the music ranges from Biggie Smalls to Britney Spears. The dirt-cheap ticket price includes a pub-style buffet spread and complimentary midnight toast.
Where: 751 Queen St. W., 647-436-6681.
When: 9 p.m.–4 a.m.
How much: $10 at the door (no advance tickets).
Decadence ’09 at Century Room
This King West den of excess will likely be the NYE destination for most west-end loft dwellers. Having hosted the likes of Jude Law, Dustin Hoffman and Sean Combs, the Century Room promises a lavish celebration as DJ Jed Dadson spins house and R&B classics.
Where: Century Room, 580 King St. W., 416-203-2226.
When: 9 p.m.–3 a.m.
How much: $60.
More information: www.centuryroom.com.
Party with Drake New Year’s Eve 2009
Settle into one of the cozy upstairs booths or dance in the new year with local hipsters in the Underground (live music provided by Independent Music Award winner K.C. Roberts and his band). Dining and bottle service can be arranged in advance if the night calls for more than the complimentary champagne toast and hors d’oeuvre crafted by Drake chef Anthony Rose.
Where: Drake Hotel, 1150 Queen St. W., 416-531-5042, ext. 113.
When: 6 p.m.–2 a.m.
How much: $75.
More information: www.ticketbreak.com.
