As an instructor, I really like the insight. Here was my take on Chris Avenir when that "scandal" first broke.

I can relate. When I taught Marketing Analysis & Planning at Sheridan College, I faced similar challenges. Through my PR firm, I represent a jewellery line that features the most common internet initialisms on charms (www.tecjewels.com). Hey, if can't beat em, join em and market to them (LOL).

In TEDx Toronto last September, Dan Tapscott told a story of a hyper-achiever from Florida State - built clinics for Katrina victims, president of the student council, Rhodes scholar etc. Who. Never. Read. Books. Or, if he did pick up one, he attacked it like he would a website, with the index serving as the site map. Dan's take was interesting - he said that everything else advanced - medicine, technology, transportation - but the university education system has remained unchanged for a hundred years. Time to rethink!
