After Hazel narrowly edges out the incumbent for Mississauga’s top slot in ’78, she hits an approval ratings jackpot when a massive chemical spill occurs on her turf. Hobbling around on a sprained ankle, she evacuates 200,000 residents, earning their lifelong loyalty.
