March Break With the Dinos
Budding archaeologists can learn about dinosaurs in an interactive way through the ROM’s special March break events. Activities include digging up bones, handling real fossils and special “dino IQ” tests. Parents can choose between a day camp program and shorter sessions with the museum’s entertaining, educational staff. All ages.
• March 14 to 21, 10 a.m.–8:30 p.m.; March 20, 10 a.m.–9:30 p.m.; March 22, 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (activities end at 4:30 p.m. daily).
• Adults $22, seniors and students $19, children $15, infants (three and under) free.

March Break Goes Wild
The Toronto Zoo is tempting parents and kids alike with the chance to escape winter. Special pavilions heated to tropical temperatures are set up to display exotic butterflies, trees and flowers. For those brave enough to face the elements, the well-marked outdoor trails will be open, with hot chocolate and extended educational talks by the zookeepers. All ages.
• March 13 to 22, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
• Adults $20, seniors (65 and up) $14, youth (four–12) $12, children (four and under) free.

March Break at Casa Loma
Some kids are born entertainers, and Casa Loma is giving them a stage. Spring Break Talent Show is being presented in the castle’s Billiard Room: contestants can perform magic tricks or comedy routines, sing their favourite songs or dance their hearts out. A special musical—School’s Out—pays tribute to teen pop stars. Families can try on period costumes and have their photo taken ($25) in the Austin Room. All ages.
• March 14 to 22, 9:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
• Adults $15, seniors (60 and up) and youth (14–17) $9.50, children (four–13) $8.25, infants (three and under) free.

March Break at Black Creek Pioneer Village
Children are invited to exchange the world of text messages and MSN for that of early Ontario pioneers. Kids can spin and dye wool, ride on a horse-drawn wagon and participate in a maple syrup production demonstration. Attendees are invited to enjoy the syrupy sweetness at an all-day pancake breakfast. All ages.
• March 14 to 22, 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m..
• Adults $10, children (five–14) $7, members and children under four free.

CN Tower Takes March Break to a Higher Level
Take in daily performances by Canada’s black light theatre company, the Famous People Players, and enter the kids in the CN Tower’s lesson-driven Top Trumps card game, which teaches about big-city skylines. All ages.
• March 16 to 20, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
• $15–$65.
