The Kodak Theatre will host Hollywood’s hottest stars on February 25. Can’t make it to Tinseltown in time for the curtain? Toast the 79th Annual Academy Awards at any of these parties right here in Hollywood North By Rina D'Angelo

Oscar Goes to Africa: An HIV/AIDS benefit supporting the Stephen Lewis Foundation
Fire-eaters, African drummers and special guest Michele Landsberg (an award-winning journalist, social activist and wife of Stephen Lewis) all raise a glass while raising awareness at Manyata Courtyard Café’s Oscar Picnic–Fundraiser. Enjoy Maasai martinis and appetizers (samosas, pakoras) courtesy of Greg Couillard’s Spice Room as well as picnic treats from Hero Burgers. Don’t forget your Tilley hat—the dress code is safari chic.
When: Feb. 25, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Hazelton Lanes, 55 Avenue Rd., lower level.
How much: $100; all proceeds will be donated to the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

The Drake Oscar House Party
Reel to Real’s Richard Crouse hosts a screening complete with complimentary popcorn and a chance to win the evening’s Oscar pool. Start the night off with dinner from the Academy Award–inspired prix fixe menu ($23) featuring such items as Pirates of the Caribbean jerk chicken or The Good German potato salad.

The Oscars at the Bloor
Prefer your celebs larger than life? Then head to the fabled rep cinema and watch the Oscars unfold on the big screen.

Where: Bloor Cinema, 506 Bloor St. W.
How much: members, seniors and children free; membership $3.

O'Grady's Oscar Bash
Rooting for The Queen? Then you’ll be in good company at the third annual O’Grady’s Oscar fête. Fill out a ballot for a chance to win gift certificates ($20-$50), DVDs and pub swag, while watching the awards on one of the two large screens or eight TVs. Reservations recommended and costumes always welcome.
When: Feb. 25, 7 p.m.

Sleeping with the Stars
Pop a mini-bottle of champagne and flip through a complimentary gossip mag (of the People, Us, In Touch variety) as you curl up under the covers for a full night of glitz, glam and gourmet popcorn.
