Coco Rocha, one of Canada’s most famous fashion model exports, tied the knot in early June to British interior designer James Conran. The ceremony was a private affair at a castle in France (where Conran proposed), and photos have just been released. On her Twitter page, Rocha has revealed a full-length photo of the Zac Posen gown she wore: tight to the knees, with an enormous mermaid-style fishtail tulle flare at the bottom. The dress looks impossible to walk in, but hey, strutting the catwalk in six-inch heels as a career has probably given the girl some practice.

• Armani Exchange’s Share the Love Valentine’s Day campaign, which features steamy photos of same-sex couples, has angered the American Family Association, which expressed its displeasure on its Web site onemillionmoms.com. The organization, which aims to rid society of “filth,” calls the ads “poison” to children and urges other parents to “take a stand since A|X is one of the fashion leaders and this is becoming a popular trend.” We’re outraged—Armani Exchange is not a fashion leader. • Controversial teen fashion blogger and Jeanne Beker stand-in Tavi Gevinson responded to the recent criticisms that have been levelled at her, her big hats and her parents. The gist? Bring it. “I’m going to New York on Saturday. I will be wearing some more hats. If you happen to be sitting behind me and you’d like to be able to see, just ask.” Let’s hope the Fashion Television cameras are rolling. [Style Rookie]

Life in the Fast lane: Canadian designer Mark Fast returns home after turning heads in London

With such magazines as Rolling Stone, ID, In Style, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and nine editions of Vogue (Korean, Japanese, Chinese, American, British, Italian, Russian, Greek and Spanish) featuring his designs, it’s odd that Manitoba-born knitwear designer Mark Fast doesn’t get more mainstream attention in his home and native land. But that could change shortly.
The 29-year-old was fêted at the Rubino brothers’ new restaurant, Ame, in Toronto on Friday night—a splashy homecoming party following recent successes overseas. Fast, who has lived in England for the past eight years, caused a stir during London fashion week when he chose three plus-size models to wear his form-fitting knit dresses; his stylist quit, saying that the models “didn’t have the walk down as well as the more experienced slimmer girls.” His clothes have recently been spotted on pretty young things, including Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester, and he won a coveted sponsorship from the British Fashion Council to show at London fashion week in February. “All of my ideas came from here, and I don’t want to be hidden away in London forever,” Fast told us on Friday. “Someday I’d like to get a place in Vancouver.”

• Zac Posen, beloved by stars for his red carpet numbers, is reaching out to Lower East Siders (read: hipsters) with Z Spoke, a more affordable line of clothes to be sold at Saks Fifth Avenue this spring. The clothes, which Posen describes as “minimalist and utilitarian,” are priced from $78 to $675, a steal compared to his namesake line, where a gown can fetch $12,000. With any luck, Z Spoke will be available on Saks’ Web site, which ships to Canada. [WWD]
• Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have designed a collection for the famed British jeweller Asprey. The proceeds from the collection—mainly serpentine items, like coiled snake rings and necklaces—will be donated to Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, a charity that works to educate youth war victims. Jolie picked the snaky theme because she sees serpents as protectors; we bet Jennifer Aniston can think of a different reason. [BBC]
