Rogers Media announces Canada’s Got Talent, but who will judge?

Could Canada’s songbird be the new David Hasselhoff?

It seems another American-by-way-of-the-U.K. show is coming to Canada: Rogers Media has announced that Canada’s Got Talent is joining the ranks of Canadian Idol and So You Think You Can Dance Canada next spring, with auditions taking place this fall in Winnipeg, Edmonton, Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto. We’re fans of the weird and wacky shenanigans that take place on both the British and American versions, but what we’re really wondering is, who is going to judge the competition? See our choices after the jump.

Considering the British version of the show is judged by Simon Cowell, Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff, while the American version boasts alumni such as Regis Philbin and Jerry Springer (and currently features Nick Canon as host with Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne as judges), we’re sure Canada’s Got Talent will find some equally entertaining and sometimes unqualified (Jerry Springer?) celebrities to star on the Canuck incarnation of the program. While we have yet to confirm if he’s big in Germany like the Hoff, we suggest Brampton’s finest, Russell Peters, as host alongside Tom Green, Tommy Chong and Pam Anderson as judges to fill the show’s “What are they doing here?” quota. What we would really like, most of all, is for Celine Dion to grace the show with her heart-pounding enthusiasm. Now that would be great television.

Check out the Canada’s Got Talent website for more information on auditions.
