Alleged terrorist Byron Sonne appears nerdier by the day

The trial of Byron Sonne—computer geek, provocateur and supposed aspiring terrorist—begins this week. In many regards he’s the most interesting figure to emerge from the G20 wreckage, largely because he’s far more cerebral than the anarchists who simply wanted to throw bricks through windows. And depending on whom you ask—Sonne himself or, say, the Crown—he’s also either an insatiably curious nerd (and baker) or a wannabe terrorist. Of course, on the basis of the Star’s recent reporting, he appears to be more the former than the latter: the paper notes that shortly after Sonne was yanked off a bus and thrown into a police cruiser, he “[mused] to himself about the police’s choice of operating system for their in-car surveillance camera.” Read the entire story [Toronto Star] »
