No boys allowed (yet): J. Crew has announced its women’s-only Yorkdale opening will happen this August

New York can have two men’s boutiques and Toronto can have none (yet). (Image: A Continuous Lean)

Some girls have all the luck. The much-ballyhooed J. Crew store, slated to open in Yorkdale this August, will be for ladies only. The store, which measures over 5,000 square feet, will stock both clothing and accessories for women, including limited-edition pieces from the brand’s Collection label. This is the company’s first international location. We’d think that with over 5,000 square feet of space they’d be able to toss in a few pairs of shorts or jeans for men, but it seems Toronto dudes looking for an artfully faded oxford will have to wait for that next trip to NYC or Buffalo.

  1. Let’s hope they bring Madewell here too. And please let the next location be downtown or central. Yorkdale is just too mad. I avoid it at all costs.

  3. Agree with Donna. Love JCrew. Am a long-time customer. Don’t know whether It’s enough to get me in the doors at Yorkdale; haven’t been there in at least ten years.

  4. What? And I thought J. Crew was a “sharp” dresser… guess they’re just greedy like the rest of them. Guess I’ll wait for Target to stock up on the mens wear.
