

The Calvino pendant light, by Vancouver’s Propellor Design, is from Made.

The butcher-block countertop was a fixture in the house’s old kitchen: “My sons had it made locally and gave it to me as a surprise one Christmas,” Chapman recalls. “I try not to chop food on it.” It was the one thing she insisted on keeping in the new addition.

Chapman bought Norval Morrisseau prints from Yorkville’s Maslak McLeod Gallery specifically for the space. She’s a long-time fan of Canadian and Australian artists influenced by aboriginal traditions.

The 25 acres aren’t just pretty to look at—one of Chapman’s neighbours uses them to raise cattle.
