In a memo from the Department of Waywayoverdue, the CBC announced today that it’s dumping the relentlessly unfunny Royal Canadian Air Farce. And, in typically Canadian fashion, it was all made to seem as if it wasn’t really ending so much as continuing:
“The decision to wrap up the show with a big New Year’s gala was made in full co-operation with producers Roger [Abbott] and Don [Ferguson],” said CBC spokesman Jeff Keay.
“We remain in discussions with them about upcoming projects.”
“Upcoming projects” like, say, not appearing on Canadian television?
One lives in hope.
