Toronto’s budget chief Mike Del Grande thinks the city should consider shaking down your kids for their allowance charging two bucks for a swim at an outdoor pool or a visit to Riverdale Farm. The lefties on council were (predictably) upset by the proposal, with Adam Vaughan calling it part of a “war on children.” But, hey, the city has to create revenue somehow—provided, of course, that somehow doesn’t involve a vehicle registration tax. It’s like climate change – there’s nothing we can do about it anyways, so, lets pass it along to the next generation to deal with it. We had our fun, they’ll have to pay for it. Conservativism in a nutshell, heyaaaa

But Toronto needs to also provide good facilities to keep the momentum going. What about schools to make sure young people who start having families continue living down here and don’t take off to the burbs again.
