Garth Drabinsky heading to prison (hopefully freeing up Edward Greenspan to do something more interesting)

Garth Drabinsky is going back to the slammer—albeit for only five years rather than his original sentence of seven years. The Ontario Court of Appeal ruled today to uphold Drabinsky’s, and partner Myron Gottlieb’s, convictions for fraud and forgery, but both also received reduced sentences in the process. We’re pleased to hear the long-running legal saga might finally be over (although we can’t count out an appeal to the Supreme Court)—because the drama never seems to stop when it comes to Drabinsky. Also, we hope that the convicted felon’s lawyer, Edward Greenspan, quits defending Drabinsky and moves on to more lofty pursuits: say, writing a tell-all book.
