Condomonium: $2.3 million for a four-bedroom penthouse in the Spire

33 Lombard Street, Suite 4501

ADDRESS: 33 Lombard St., Suite 4501

NEIGHBOURHOOD: Church-Yonge Corridor

AGENT: Todd Sloan, Sutton Group-Associates Realty Inc.

PRICE: $2,399,000

THE PLACE: Located in a historic quarter of downtown, sitting across the street from St. James Cathedral and steps away from St. Lawrence Market, this four-bedroom penthouse in the Spire is wrapped in terraces and windows providing a 360-degree bird’s eye view of Toronto.

BRAGGING RIGHTS: The building won an Urban Design Award of Excellence in 2009—heck, even the Toronto Star’s fusty architecture columnist Christopher Hume gave it an A grade—not to mention that every room comes with a view (there’s even a view from the tub, where you can float above the city).

THE BIG SELLING POINT: Most downtown homes have limited space to raise a growing brood, but with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms and a massive kitchen island, this condo has enough space to allow you to both live in the city core and comfortably raise a family.

POSSIBLE DEAL BREAKER: With floor-to-ceiling windows, the dizzying heights of the 45th-floor penthouse are hard to ignore. Not recommended for those who experience vertigo easily.

BY THE NUMBERS:
• $2,399,000
• $2,366.60 in monthly maintenance fees
• 3,400 square feet
• 1,300 square feet of terraces
• 360-degree views of the city
• 10-foot ceilings
• 6 bathrooms
• 4 bedrooms
• 2 fireplaces
• 2 parking spaces

  1. Really nice… I wonder if you bought a place like that if you could have a grill or smoker up there?

  3. Me like…except for the white walls (of all the colours to choose from, why go with the same colour as the base primer?). Come to think of it, if I could afford this place, I’d likely need another two parking spots, and I probably wouldn’t be a big fan of the neighbourhood either…but otherwise, not bad.

  4. Just realized…the guy has an ugly painting where the huge mother effing flat screen should go.

  6. I REALLY LOVE THE SURROUND VIEW THAT YOU GET AT ANY ANGLE, EXCELLENT ! And to live in the heart of downtown Toronto is just fantastic, with everything at your finger tips, eh, wow !

  7. Cool place, but the cheap mantle and accompanying nic-naks and ugly painting belong in your grandma’s house.

  9. My friend lives here and the condo is totally incredible. Views to die for (you can see the CN tower). The art is fantastic – gallery art everywhere – this place is definitely not cheap. You’d be thrilled and bragging about it if this were your place!

  10. @Top Left the art looks fine but the decorating leaves much to be desired for a place that expensive (that shelf with the potted plants… ugh!!). They should have engaged a stager because the furniture is a HUGE turn-off!
