When Debi Little tells her friends about her new home, she likes to joke that she’s triple trailer trash. “My dad’s from Arkansas, my mother’s from Louisiana, and I grew up in Florida. And now I own a trailer,” she says. Little bought her mobile home last June, and she imagines staying for the next 30 years. If all goes according to plan, she’ll be able to pay off her mortgage in 15 years. “Then, when I retire, it’s very affordable living,” she says. “It’ll allow me to travel and do all the things I want to do.”
