Bob Barclay grew up near where Twin Pines is now, when the area was mostly orchards. In the ’60s, he met a Scottish woman named Ena at a Legion dance. The two soon married, and when they began looking for a home, Bob suggested the trailer park in his old neighbourhood. At first, Ena refused. “I said, ‘If you think I’m living with an outdoor toilet, you’re kidding yourself,’ ” she recalls. But Twin Pines’ atmosphere and amenities won her over. The Barclays’ grown son lives in his own mobile in the same park.
