Municipal election spoiler: Rob Ford wants a full slate of candidates in 2014
The next municipal election is still more than two years away, but Rob Ford is already talking strategy. Speaking on his weekly campaign ad radio show yesterday, Ford said he wants to run a “slate” of council candidates in 2014—it’s the only way to seize power back from the 24 councillors at City Hall who disagree with him. Those obstinate councillors, Doug went on, refused to budge during the transit debate, despite the brothers’ efforts to “bend over backwards” and “kiss their backside.” A heads-up, Doug: comparing someone to a monkey isn’t normally part of “kissing their backside.” Read the entire story [Toronto Star] »
Be careful, Rob. Campaigning before the next election could be against the rules. Don’t you have to get off CFRB before you start campaigning, else CFRB would have to give equal time to the other (40+) candidates.
he’s still mayor?
It’s about time, we gotta replace left-wing loony bin communists like John Parker.
Mayor Lastman, a little of the whacky side, still managed for 3 years to find consensus and focus on issues that everyone could agree on.
If conservatives like Doug Ford had a majority, we’d be building a mono rail + ferris wheel + mall.
I’m just hoping that Ford gets disqualified so that the city could run a more sensible conservative candidate.
Team Ford needs to lay off the pastrami and donuts. Red face is a sign the legs are beginning to buckl under.
