The left-wing media recently took a break from its attacks on Mayor Rob Ford to present him with an award: that of, um, the Worst Person in the World. American pundit Keith Olbermann regularly hands out the award on his news and political commentary show, Countdown, and Ford snagged the top spot following an ambush interview from 22 Minutes’ Marg Delahunty. Olbermann lays out why Ford is the world’s worst person in his best mock-Canadian accent (or just the voice he uses when impersonating a simpleton—we can’t tell). Adding insult to injury is that Ford edged out Glenn Beck for the honour. In case you’ve never watched Beck’s show or heard him on the radio, just know that he’s pretty much made his career, and a small fortune, out of being a terrible person.

Rob Ford crushes Glenn Beck to claim Keith Olbermann’s Worst Person in the World award

The liberal comedy troupe should be thankful that they tolerate this kind of crap in canada. If it were america, i would of called 911, told them some dead people are on my property, then i would of got my shotgun, opened the door, and start BLASTING. Then i would go to my REAL job. Which is were those people should of been. Lol.

October 31, 2011 at 11:39 am | by Derek in CalgaryThis IS their real job. They are the cast of a spoof news show remarkably similar to Fox News, where most of your information comes from.
October 31, 2011 at 11:47 am | by rachel in the hammerHas this man never watched any of our fine cbc programming? As much as the character of ‘marg delahunty’ can be cringeworthy, she has been doing this for years, pestering every politician possible. Hell, sid the kid once took a break from interviews to give 22 mins his time because he recognized his pimply faced antagonist. Have a sence of humer ford, do you really think a woman in a cheap Xena outfit is after you?
October 31, 2011 at 11:55 am | by EasyDuzzit@Sounds Like Keith, he DID call 911, swore at the operators and then lied about the circumstances. He’s an embarrassment to this city. Politician after politician has been interviewed by Marg and they go along with good grace. This jerk can’t take a joke, calls 911 and then verbally abuses the staff. Classy.
October 31, 2011 at 12:57 pm | by MichelleP.S. Shame on you Toronto Life for using a term like “left-wing media”. This immediately skews your readers perceptions of a story. This is American jargon to isolate opinions and has no place in your otherwise wonderful magazine. For shame. Besides which, the CBC is not “left-wing”, they’re more to the centre, so it’s not even an accurate term..

October 31, 2011 at 1:11 pm | by AEOf course, Rob Ford would have no idea who Marg Delahunty is or the premise of 22 minutes. It is a show that features political humour and satire beyond his comprehension. From every asinine thing he said before the election, the shenanigans reported about the cell phone incident and now his foul-mouthed behavior with a 911 operator, he is the sort of guy who I would be embarrassed to have as a neighbour let alone the mayor of my city. And we are stuck with him for THREE MORE YEARS! I am afraid he is only getting started and the accolades will keep coming in.
October 31, 2011 at 2:24 pm | by barbarinskiThere seems to be a feast on Rob Ford from those who think they know better or are better than Rob Ford. They should remember that Rob Ford was openly elected to reduce City Hall’s financial mess– and he is doing it. Those literary and social “snobs” for all we know are people with their hands out for city grants or have their snouts already in the city feed trough and does not want it to stop.
October 31, 2011 at 2:35 pm | by IsabelRob Ford was elected to clean up the financial mess of City Hall — and he is doing it!Those who think they are better than Ford should remember that. Those “literary and social snobs” who think that they know better than Ford should start planning for the next election. Otherwise- let the man do what he said he will do. At least he is no hypocrite than many who got their hands out for city grants or have their snouts already in the city feed trough and want it to continue!
October 31, 2011 at 2:41 pm | by IsabelCan’t stand Ford… but these kinds of attacks on him don’t discredit him… they discredit those who make them… and those who think they have some kind of validity.
