Spotted! Belinda Stronach partying with a shirtless young man at Maison

Stronach at Maison (Image: Fraser Abe)

When the official after-party for last night’s Amfar fundraiser was a bust—after Martha Wash performed, the round room at the Carlu cleared out quickly—the unofficial hot spot for post-partying was Maison on Mercer Street. Ciara Hunt, erstwhile editor of Hello! Canada, piled into the back seat of a BMW convertible and tore off to Maison, as did Society gal Ashleigh Dempster and hubby Matt George (owner of new bar Goodnight).

It seemed everyone at the Carlu got the memo, as the club was packed with women in full-length ball gowns, and men in tuxedos danced the night away to thumping techno music. Our favourite sighting of the night was Belinda Stronach, in a figure-hugging mini-dress, flanked by a cadre of hot young 20-somethings, including one shirtless gentleman who claimed it was on a dare.

  3. Maison last night was the host to Müdd Magazines official launch party. It was packed because everyone was invited to come party with Mahfud, Müdd’s creative director and former editor and founder of Lush Magazine.

  9. For Belinda, I don’t think this 20 something can hold a candle to Bill Clinton and countless others in the thinking/talking category. He better shuck the pants and show her the big candle! Because that’s probably all he’s got.

  13. the mag is spelt Müdd not mudd, I was at the party, and asked about the name origins, apparently it is a play on the french word mode (for fashion) and is pronounced that way when you spell it correctly with the accents.

  14. I googled this mag, and found there are two, one is a really shitty christian life magazine found at http://www.muddmagazine.com — this mag needs to go away, like NOW, and I’m SURE that is what Roberta is talking about. The magazine that actually threw this party is Müdd Magazine, can be found at http://www.muddmag.com, and I really like it so for, great blog.
