Is a fake Will Ferrell terrorizing Toronto?

First there was news of a Joaquin Phoenix imposter in Toronto, and now we hear a Will Ferrell impersonator is roaming the streets of the city. That’s what the publicist for his film Everything Must Go said Sunday night at Brassaii. Shots of Ferrell arriving at Pearson in a bright red Fred Perry zip-up track jacket and matching pants were snapped on Thursday. (It looks like the real Ferrell to us.) A fan then claimed he saw Ferrell strolling Yorkville in the getup on Saturday. But the film’s Bonnie Voland says not so. “He was only here for 18 hours, and I was with him for 11 of those hours,” she says outside the party for Vanishing on Seventh Street.

Verifiably real at the TIFF hot spot was Hayden Christensen, who calmly socialized in the lounge, and his Vanishing co-star Thandie Newton, who looked like a million in a loose magenta top and matching sequined skirt. Ladies at the party were swooning over the newly single Christensen, who built his dream home in Uxbridge with his now ex-fiancée Rachel Bilson. “He looks like James Dean!” a woman in her mid-40s gushed as she watched Christensen smoking outside. Great—now we have a James Dean imposter!
