Lake Shore “sizzle reel” removed from YouTube
Earlier today, we noticed that the Lake Shore “sizzle reel” had been removed from YouTube due to “a copyright claim by Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.” Could it be that CBC had bought rights to the already scandal-ridden show? Probably not. We called both the broadcaster and Lake Shore creator Maryam Rahimi to find out what the deal is, but so far, our calls have not been returned. In the meantime, the clip can still be viewed here.

I can’t see any network picking this up. All the producers are doing is promoting racism in order to get attention and ratings. A show like this will set Canada back 100 years. Even the comment about “Keep gays away from me” is disgusting. After all the anti-bullying campaigns going on in light of the rise in suicides with gay teens at the moment, how dare the producers try and sell a show or even put out a sizzle reel with degrading comments against gays or Jewish people. The producers had full control over what was said in the reel, as they were the ones who had it edited and knew exactly what was in it before posting it.
Any apologies they are giving now is because their scandalous attempt at publicity backfired! Let’s hope the tv networks are smarter than airing such racist crap.

PLEASE do not let this air on television! Its horrible, these people are absolutely immature and do not represent Toronto or Canada in any way! Where do they find these people? They’re just a bunch of over-cocky people who think they know Toronto because they go to clubs. They aren’t even from the downtown core! I agree with Jack 100%, please tv networks do not pick this up!! All it will cause is a bunch of negative publicity, it’s already doing that and that’s just from the sizzle reel!!
As an Italian living in Toronto, it’s embarassing to see Joey (from Whitby) representing my culture. It’s obvious that millions of others with cultures represented on this show feel the same way. The scumbag producers of the show missed the boat with this show’s premise. In a great City like Toronto with multiculturalism at its best, they decided to focus on the 5% of morons (of which I’d assume 50% don’t live in Toronto) to represent our City. Not to mention the judges panel…? (Motorboating a contestant…REALLY?)
