Lady Gaga in Toronto: duet with Maria Aragon and bizarre airport arrival

Lady Gaga, the queen of wacky outfits, arrived in Toronto yesterday in style—and by in style, we mean she was wearing purple mesh tights (sans skirt) and a leather, flesh-baring garment that resembles a shirt. Oh, and signature heel-less platform thigh-high boots, as well. Gaga gave photographer Terry Richardson the finger as he snapped her on the runway. (Richardson documented the U.S. leg of her Monster Ball tour last year for a collaborative book project, during which the superstar reportedly had a tough time adjusting to the photographer’s constant presence, when, for example she went to the bathroom.)

More exciting than Gaga’s bird-flipping was Maria Aragon’s stadium debut last night: not only was this the first trip to Toronto for the 10-year-old Winnipeg girl, but she performed alongside Lady Gaga onstage in front of thousands of people at the Air Canada Centre. Dressed in a Gaga-meets-tween outfit, complete with shiny black pants, a pink shirt and a white hat, Aragon took the stage to screaming fans. She perched on Gaga’s lap, and the pair sang a piano-based duet of “Born This Way”—with Aragon working the keys and Gaga the pedals, no less—after which Aragon thanked Gaga, her family, friends and supporters. The most touching part? Lady Gaga’s tears as Aragon exited the stage. “You know, if I could touch just one person, it’s enough for me. So, just knowing I touched one person, it means the world. So thank you for being here tonight,” Gaga said.
