DeadMau5 accuses Madonna of being a drug pusher
DeadMau5 has become vocal after Madonna allegedly referenced (and therefore, according to DeadMau5, advocated for the use of) ecstasy at this year’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami, stating that she is pandering to “extreme bullshit lifestyles” that dredge up the “shit that really held electronic dance music down for years.”
Here is what Madge said that ruffled DeadMau5’s feathers:
“How many people in this crowd have seen molly? Are you ready to dance? Are you ready to sweat? Are you ready to make some noise? Are you ready for the next DJ, motherfuckers?”
Molly is in fact a street term for MDMA, but is Madonna really pandering to ecstasy-popping fans? Madonna has denied the allegations, saying that she was merely referencing the song “Have You Seen Molly?” written by her friend Cedric Gervais, so it’s unclear whether she was begging her fans to get high. What is clear, though, is how high Deadmau5 is perched atop his DJ pulpit.
Is there actually even a remote question as to what that song is talking about? Cause it seems pretty obvious IT’S ABOUT FUCKING ECSTACY! Mind you, Madonna still seems to think acting like a 23 year old at 53 is perfectly acceptable, so clearly, her intelligence isn’t high enough to comprehend this.
Another one using Madonna’s name to get publicity. They do seem to come in threes, don’t they?
Man, if you really think that she “allegedly” referred to drugs, then either you’re not a very good journalist or extremely naive (or maybe being paid by Madonna’s marketing department). Or did you really not notice the name of her album, too?
It’s kinda good deadmau5 called Madonna out cause the electronic scene has been labeled as something that can only be appreciated with drugs for so long that it has been outlawed in many different areas. With a big famous star such as Madonna she shouldn’t be labeling all the people who go as drug users cause truth is finally we reached a day and age where electronic “MUSIC” has been appreciated for what it is. It would be sad to see all that we have worked for to make this music what we’ve tried to show people what it is go to nothing because people do take drugs at raves but that doesn’t mean that everyone else does.
