Suzanne Rogers delivers Oscar de la Renta to Toronto
When our favourite sparkly socialite, Suzanne Rogers, is in the news, it’s usually for one of two reasons: to praise her fashion sense or to pay heed to her philanthropic heart. This time, it’s for a combination of the two. Rogers’s newest charitable endeavour is a series of dinner-and-a-(runway)-show events titled Suzanne Rogers Presents that benefit Healthy Kids International, a new initiative at SickKids. The series begins next month with a serious guest coup: Oscar de la Renta, who will present his fall collection. Rogers is, of course, a customer of his. Tickets start at $15,000 for a table of 1o. But don’t bother saving up; the event is already sold out.
Toronto Life really should exercise some journalistic integrity here and stop sucking up to the wealthy Mrs. Rogers. Her lifestyle is the epitome of conspicuous consumption that has not been seen since the 80’s. She spends more on over the top ridiculous outfits in a month more than a working family makes in a year!
Agreed! She is ridiculous and not to mention tacky! Have you seen her lately?? There is a picture of her with those horrific bangs and terrible terrible cherry blossom dress… Too much money and time in her hands! She needs to get a job!! And not the ones that she is used to!!
Both of you are such jealous losers. The article is about her event; an event that raised over $700,000k for children’s charities. That’s a fact. What have you two losers done? Whatever Mrs. Rogers wants to spend her money on is her business, not yours – guess what; it’s HER money!!…and why do you care? Rogers is a beautiful woman who always looks spectacular and I guess you just can’t stomach another woman who truly has it all and actually does some good in this city. You two need to get a life…but I guess pathetic souls like yourself hide behind hateful comments because you have no life..
