After much squabbling and delay, copies of Johanna Skibsrud’s Giller Prize–winning novel, The Sentimentalists, will be available for purchase today. The mass-market paperback version of the book from publisher Douglas and McIntyre is expected to hit the shelves at the Eaton Centre Indigo this afternoon. Can’t make it to the mall? After hearing 3 people report how much they disliked this book I found myself persvering to the end, hoping it would get better. the author is so hung up on metaphorical language, imagery(sort of) and analogy that the story gets lost. How did this win the Giller?
