The Hoof Café’s popular brunch service is back—at the Hoof Raw Bar

Over the weekend, Black Hoof owner Jen Agg tweeted a piece of news that Toronto brunchers have been waiting to hear since the cult Hoof Café closed in 2011:

The brunch service actually launched over the weekend (early reports are already flooding in), and will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday to Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. We expect the 2010-style lineups to reappear along Dundas West this weekend, sub-zero temperatures be damned.

UPDATE: Agg just gave us some more details on chef Amancio dos Santos’s brunch menu. Expect tongue bennies, chicken-fried sweet breads and waffles, Bombay hash (with butter chicken sauce and chaat masala) and a blood sausage McMuffin, the latter available to-go with Sam James coffee for $10 once the weather warms up. The beloved bone marrow doughnuts will not be returning, however (“as awesome as that dish was, we don’t like to repeat ourselves”). She also emphasized that the Raw Bar will continue to operate in the evenings, and said she may eventually add a Monday brunch service aimed at restaurant industry workers.
